James is a yoga teacher based in Devon, UK. He teaches a holistic approach to yoga and creates a space for learning that is welcoming and inclusive. He has had a dedicated yoga practice for nearly twenty years and has been teaching yoga for the past ten years.
James trained in India, Nepal and the UK. In India, he studied at Yoga Vidya Gurukul
(YVG) and in the UK with the The Devon School of Yoga
(DSY). James has completed two teaching diplomas and also holds a certificate in Advanced Yoga Studies from YVG and a postgraduate diploma in Yoga Therapy from the DSY. James has trained with senior and respected yoga masters including Srivatsa Ramaswami and Doug Swenson. His principal teacher is Duncan Hulin with whom he has studied regularly for over 17 years.
James has a specialised interest in the history and culture of yoga and writes a popular regular blog
on a range of related subjects. His writing has been published on the award winning Elephant Journal platform and was featured in the top 50 yoga & wellness blogs for 2017. As well as teaching weekly classes in Exeter and Totnes, James also teaches regular workshops, festivals & retreats and is a teacher trainer for the Devon School of Yoga.
